December 26, 2008
Africa has a lot to offer, so forget those media images you see of poor and famine stricken Africa.
Oh and you might also want to put away those images of Tarzan in Africa with wild animals always attacking him. The creator of Tarzan never visited Africa and most of the episodes were filmed in southern California.
What Im about to share with you should be extremely useful so don’t discard it. You will be glad you read it. Read more
Breath - Taking Experience At Naro Moru River Lodge
December 23, 2008
Naro Moru River Lodge is one of the places that you should be having on your list on places to visit before the end of this year if you are a resident in Kenya. The lodge is located 170 km from Nairobi making it a 2 hour journey. One would opt to use the karatina Nyeri road to Marua River Bridge then off Kiganjo before heading to Nanyuki. The place is situated at the side of Mount Kenya; therefore by the time you get there, the temperatures are quite low since the altitude is 2155 m above sea level. Read more

Mother Rodent Ingest Urine Keep Young warm And Clean
December 17, 2008
All rodents, such as rats, gerbils, mice and dormice, show strong maternal instincts. Most species’ young ones are born blind and hairless, and therefore without special protection, they could die of exposure.
A rodent mother keeps her babies warm by building an insulating nest round them, often using hair from her chest and curls up beside them. She may lie on top of them to provide extra warmth. Read more
Snakes Saw Their Way Out Of Their Shells
December 17, 2008
Snake eggs have a tough leathery shell, and getting in or out of this protective fortress is not easy either way. Snake embryos are supplied with a special implement; an egg tooth curving from the centre of the upper lip which they use to cut their way out. The egg tooth is flat and very sharp; the infant snake uses it like saw by waving its head from side to side until it cuts a slit on the shell. The egg tooth falls off as soon as the young snake is out of its nursery. Read more
Baboons Face Attack In Battle Formation
December 16, 2008
Baboons are common in most parts of Africa. One of the greatest enemies of the baboons is the leopard. These is because they hunt them in stealth , and often spring out from cover in an attempt to make a quick snatch from the troop before drawing of battle lines. When the African baboons find themselves face to face with a snarling leopard on open ground, they are not too proud to run away if there is an opportunity to. In the case whereby there is no chance to escape, the baboons create a ‘retreat’ formation of sorts. Read more
The Cheetah That Has Changed Its Spots
December 16, 2008
This news is much about the king cheetah changing its spots than of the leopard doing so. The subspecies of cheetah, not found in other places in Africa but only in eastern Zimbabwe and parts of northern Botswana, over the past century, has developed horizontal stripes of joined spots along its spine and blotches on its flanks. The reason for evolving of this cheetah is not known. Read more

What To Wear On Safari
December 14, 2008
The most important thing to consider when considering what to wear on an African safari is comfort. Whatever you wear should be generally light and comfortable because on africa in general is warm. Occasionally it gets cold but usually nothing extreme. So you may want to carry along a jacket or sweater/pullover., for evenings and the early mornings.
It is often a misconception and i’ve seen it on several websites where they talk of wearing “bright colored clothing may get you in trouble with the wild animals” This is not true, because wild animals are often found in parks and game reserves and visiting these game reserves will often be on vehicles.
