A look at severin sea lodge mombasa

December 7, 2008 by admin

Truth be told that the best beaches in mombasa are found in the South Coast. That is not to say that mombasa North Coast is no place for a beach holiday. In fact the North is what i would consider pocket friendly. By this i mean that if you are looking for a mombasa beach safari and would like a chance to interract with the locals on the beach. Then you will find that mombasa’s North Coast is a great place.

It has numerous 5, 4 and 3 star hotels. One such hotel is severin sea lodge.

I wouldn’t exactly call it a dream hotel, Severin Sea Lodge is situated along the sandy Bamburi Beach. The area is known for it’s cool sea breezes and the equator sun that give pleasant warm temperatures all year round. The hotel has a friendly and comfortable atmosphere, and is set amongst lush tropical gardens giving you peace and tranquility and making your beach holiday an exceptional experience.

Guests have the option of selecting between the Karibu (swahili word for welcome) or Comfort class:

* Each of the 100 Karibu rooms is equipped with air-conditioner, telephone, bath or shower and safe. Originally furnished, the rooms offer pleasant accommodation.
* Treat yourself to the delights of one of 100 Comfort class rooms. It includes a ceiling fan, silent air-conditioner and mosquito nets. The spacious bathrooms are furnished with 2 hand washbasins. Private safe, hairdryer, mini bar, direct dial telephone and piped music are additions, these i’m told are to make your stay here more enjoyable.

When it comes to dining,

* An international menu uses farm produce, fresh seafood and tropical fruits to provide wonderful Gala Buffets and many-course dinners.
* A gourmet meal, selected from the great variety of foods Kenya has to offer, may be enjoyed on the Imani Dhow, a novel restaurant built on an old Arabian Sailing Dhow.
* Snack bars include Kisima pool light house and safari johari terrace.

Severin Sea Lodge Night Out and Entertainment

* After dinner, guests may watch or dance to a selection of various live African bands (Jazz and Reggae), traditional dances and musicians, acrobats, and local folklore.

Severin Sea Lodge Sports

* Wind surfing.
* Tennis.
* Fitness room.
* Diving
* Table tennis darts.
* Beach volleyball.
* Two swimming pools.
* 18-hole championship golf course available nearby.
* Sports massage and therapy.

One other thing i would highly recommend for couples visiting mombasa is the mombasa by night safari. Totally breath taking. There can be no better or memorable experience of Kenyan culture than a visit of mombasa’s historical harbor at night.

    we have just returned from the severin sea lodge and i can say that it was a great holiday. We arrived to blazing heat and ice cold towels to freshen ourselves with. We were allocated the room we asked for,and think it was the best room there,as it was a prime location for the monkeys who came to visit us early morning and late afternoon. Very entertaining!! The food was excellent and we were suprised to discover that premium drinks were included. Although there were a few people suffering from the “mombasa express” including my husband i was fine and ate everything in sight. The staff were very friendly and very helpful, with a simple Jambo going a long way. We didnt do much while we were there as it was so relaxing. We did however go to Haller Park, which was fab, i never realised just how big the hippos were!! Only down side to the holiday was that the drinks were not cold enough. Warm beer doesnt do it for me, although ice helps. All in all a really great holiday. loved every minute of it and came home with an excellent tan. Glad we made the effort to go to Kenya.
